Visiting the dentist can be frightening for many kids. That’s one reason we recommend waiting until your child is ready for school before bringing them in to visit our office. We’ll make sure their first visit is a lot of fun so that they’ll feel more comfortable at future appointments. If you have a concern about your child’s smile, give us a call so that we can make sure your little one is on track toward a healthy mouth.
We are in network with several popular insurance plans, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, Aetna, Guardian, UnitedHealthcare, United Concordia, and Careington. We’re happy to file your claim with your provider even if we’re not in network. We know some patients may not have insurance or may need help paying out-of-pocket costs, so we also accept other kinds of payment, including credit cards and third-party financing.
We offer many cosmetic dentistry services to give you a beautiful smile. Your choices include:
- Invisalign orthodontics to straighten teeth with no metal wires or brackets
- Comfortable gum reshaping with a laser
- Affordable tooth bonding to hide smile flaws
- Professional teeth whitening to brighten your smile
- Dental veneers to change the size, shape, and/or color of your teeth
We recommend visiting us for dental exams every six months. Your dentist will check your mouth for signs of trouble like cavities, gum disease, and even oral cancer. We’ll also give your teeth a thorough cleaning to help keep them cavity-free and teach you about oral hygiene best practices. We may recommend preventive treatments like dental sealants or fluoride.
We know that losing teeth can be devastating, as it affects your smile’s appearance and function. So we offer many tooth replacement options. For one lost tooth, you can get a single dental implant with a dental crown, or you can choose a dental bridge. A bridge can also be used to replace several teeth in a row. We can attach a bridge to either your own teeth or to dental implants. You can replace most or all of your teeth with dentures. You can select either conventional dentures or dental implant dentures. Our dentists will help you identify the option that is best for your smile!
What Our Patients Are Saying
We have been going to Dr Burgess for several years. He and his staff are always polite, professional and honest. It’s nearly impossible to find a dentists office that meets all these criteria these days so we are thankful for Dr Burgess!
Always Superior Service!
The staff and very nice and welcoming.
Went in for my 6mo teeth cleaning. Staff and Dr Burgess were friendly and efficient. I'm sensitive to the scaler so the hygienist turn it down a bit resulting in no pain for me. I highly recommend Smiles by Burgess!
I hate going to the dentist. ABHOR IT! So much so that it has actually been 10+ years since I have gone. Embarrassing to admit that but I feel it shows my exact level of fear and hatred for making the dentist a part of my life. Needless to say, I made a decision to incorporate more self care in my life and part of that promise to myself meant I had to face going to the dentist. I selected Smiles by Burgess because they accept my insurance and had good reviews. The first visit I was met with an incredibly friendly staff. I have had to go a total of 3 times in a matter of 2 months and each time I have been met with genuine friendliness. They are like the Chick fil A of dentistry. Efficient, communicative and great follow through. Brandi always calls me for appointment reminders and is consistently full of joy and comfort. She is the first person that greets me in the office and is so welcoming. My hygienist, Karly is caring, friendly and thorough. She was my hygienist for all 3 of my appointments. I appreciate having the same hygienist as I feel this helps build a trusting relationship. She answers all my questions and takes great care in making sure I am comfortable. She isn't pushy with the "extras" (e.g. fluoride, laser treatment) - she provides the information and education and then lets you decide. She actually suggested I look into an electric toothbrush and waterpik. Best recommendation ever! I'm so glad that I invested in those two items. Total dental hygiene game changers for me. I had deep cleaning performed which entailed receiving local anesthesia. I was so scared to receive the injections but Dr. Burgess administered it in such a way that was so smooth and with little discomfort (I have a very low pain thresh hold). Donna, the financial coordinator is wonderful at reviewing and explaining your patient responsibility. She goes the extra mile to let you know what your insurance covers, what you will be responsible for and I GREATLY appreciate that. And she does it BEFORE your scheduled visits so that there are no surprises. Insurance benefits can be daunting - heck I STILL don't understand it and I worked in healthcare for 3.5 years. I have to make my money stretch and so having someone help me plan my payments and provide the expectations up front helps me be realistic about what I can do NOW vs. what I may have to schedule at a later time. Overall, I am really pleased with my experiences at Smiles by Burgess. Due to my lack of regular dental exams I now find myself needing to return every 3 months to correct MY negligence. Don't let that happen to you. If you have had negative dental experiences in the past - I challenge you to give Smiles by Burgess an opportunity to change your mind about dentistry.
